“Enjoy yourself. It’s later than you think.”
– Chinese Proverb
A passage can mean a passage through life, or a passage out of life — or even a passage of writing like a poem or a whole book. (Click “A Beacon" to find out more about my upcoming book!)
It’s a fundamental truth that the human brain isn’t wired for happiness — it’s wired for survival. This means that in order to achieve moments of joy and states of sustained happiness, we humans have to practice.
It has become my life’s work to create as much joy and happiness for myself and my beloved ones as I can — this is my resistance.
Furthermore, I believe that these skills (and they are indeed skills that can be taught, practiced and learned, not simply inborn talents you either have or don’t!) are so crucial that I must pass them onto others whenever I have an opportunity to do so.
